Landfill Operator
The City of Oakley is seeking a full time position at the City's landfill. 
This employee will be responsible for operating heavy equipment and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations. 

Duties will include packing and covering trash as it comes to the landfill, inspecting loads for hazardous materials, and assisting citizens on appropriate disposal of refuse and work in the Recycling Center. 

This employee should possess a strong mechanical aptitude, and effective communication and public relation skills. 
Employee will be required to obtain a CDL within 90 days of employment - Employee will be allowed time to study during work hours and the cost to acquire a CDL will be covered in full by the City.  

Experience preferred but not required. Includes full health/excellent benefits.

Pay is dependent upon qualifications.

Police Officer

The City of Oakley, KS is accepting applications for Police Officer.  This is  a full time position with a great benefit package including: KPERS retirement, paid full family insurance, sick leave, holiday pay, vacation, and all equipment supplied with the exception of boots.

Non certified starting salary is $14.36/hr. with an increase of $1.00 per hour upon KLETC certification.

Kansas Certified salary is negotiable depending on qualifications.

Must be a United States Citizen, 21 years old by the time of hire, High School diploma or GED, satisfy all requirements as set forth in K.S.A. 74-5605, have or be able to obtain a valid Kansas driver's license, must pass an extensive background check, interview board, psychological test, and drug screen. Must not have been charged or convicted of domestic violence, no felony convictions(s), including any felony conviction(s) that have been expunged.  Kansas Certification is preferred.
